E3 2007: Is 'Duck Hunt: Cheney Edition' next for the Wii?

Ok, ok, bad joke ... but Nintendo did announce some good things and bad things about the Wii. The good news? Wii owners can expect 100 new games, a pistol controller and a dance pad for gamers. Think 'Dance Dance Revolution,' folks. The bad news? Get your Wii now because the holidays won't be kind to folks looking for one.

The Wii Zapper, similiar to the original Nintendo pistol with the NES system, will go on sale later this year. The dance pad will likely go on sale next year - missing the holiday sales rush.

Speaking on the holiday rush, a senior executive at Nintendo said Wiis will likely be scarce.

"There is no guarantee that we are not going to have 'out-of-stocks' this holiday season," George Harrison, senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications for Nintendo of America, said in an interview. "If you see one, buy it. Don't assume that you can come back later and find one."

I definitely look forward to getting the Zapper ... and playing 'Duck Hunt: Dick Cheney edition' and ducking to avoid him busting a cap in my rear ...
