On the HD DVD/Blu Ray fence? Wal-Mart offering $99 HD DVD player

If you are having trouble trying to figure out whether to get a Blu Ray player or an HD DVD player, Wally World has made your choice a lot easier.

Forget the day after Thanksgiving. Wal-Mart, like Iowa in the presidential races, has decided to move the day up for Black Friday bargains to Nov. 2nd. Talk about deals ...

Best Buy decided to one-up Wally World, offering an even sweeter deal - the same Toshiba HD DVD player for $99, plus two free in-store HD DVD movies and 5 free HD DVD movies by mail.

Other *deals* include a $348 laptop and a 50" plasma for under a grand.

Wal-Mart's secret deals

The Best Buy deal went quickly - I was able to snag an open-box HD DVD player and the 2 free HD DVDs for $99, but I don't have the remote and can't get the 5 free HD DVDs because it's an open-box item. Oh well ... but I do have a player for just $50. Sweet!
